How We Score
ATS Compatibility.

Our ATS scoring engine evaluates your resume across 4 dimensions. Here's exactly how each dimension is weighted and calculated.

Honest Disclaimer

Our ATS score models how well your resume would parse and match in common Applicant Tracking Systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS). It is not a guarantee of interview callbacks. Hiring decisions involve many factors beyond ATS parsing: recruiter preferences, headcount, timing, and internal candidates. A high ATS score means your resume will survive automated filtering — it does not guarantee human review will result in an interview.

Keyword Match
Dimension 1 of 4
40%

Extracts the top keywords from the target job description and measures exact match + synonym coverage in your resume. Synonyms are expanded using O*NET SOC code data — the same federal occupational database used by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Exact keyword match (case-insensitive, stemmed)
Synonym expansion via O*NET SOC code mapping
Weighted by keyword position in JD (title > requirements > nice-to-haves)
Penalizes keyword stuffing (>3 repetitions of same keyword)
Section Presence
Dimension 2 of 4
25%

Checks that your resume contains the standard sections ATS parsers expect. Missing sections cause parse failures in systems like Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday.

Required: Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education, Skills
Bonus: Certifications, Awards, Languages (if in source resume)
Checks proper heading hierarchy (## Section Name format)
Validates chronological ordering of experience entries
Quantification
Dimension 3 of 4
20%

Measures the density of quantified achievements in your bullets. ATS-optimized resumes with metrics consistently outperform activity-only descriptions in recruiter screening.

Counts bullets with numeric metrics (%, $, #, time units)
Target: ≥ 60% of bullets should contain at least one metric
Validates XYZ formula structure (Accomplished X, measured by Y, by doing Z)
Detects vague quantifiers ("many", "several", "various") as non-metric
Format Compliance
Dimension 4 of 4
15%

Ensures your resume uses formatting that ATS parsers can reliably parse. Tables, text boxes, headers/footers, and multi-column layouts cause parsing failures in most ATS systems.

Single-column layout (no multi-column or sidebar formats)
No tables or text boxes (break ATS parsing)
Standard date formats (MM/YYYY or Month YYYY)
No embedded images, charts, or non-text elements
UTF-8 safe characters only (no special symbols)

What the Numbers Mean

80–100
At or above our floor

Clears the 80 floor we enforce. Strong keyword and structural match to the target JD — this is what we ship.

60–79
Below our floor

May pass some filters but is missing key requirements. The Red Team rewrites drafts that land here — and if the delivered document still can't clear 80, your next run is free.

0–59
High Risk

Likely to be filtered out by automated screening. Significant keyword or format issues.

The Floor

What happens if a run misses 80

Two different agents look at the score, at two different moments, and it is worth being precise about which one you see:

  1. The Red Team gate (during the run). Before anything is finalized, an adversarial agent scores the draft. Anything under 80 is sent back to be rewritten. You never see these drafts — this is the gate, not the report.
  2. The ATS Scorer (on the delivered document). The score you actually see is computed on the final document we hand you, after optimization. This is the number the floor is measured against.

If that delivered score comes in below 80, the system grants you one free re-run automatically — a full pipeline execution at our cost, with no credit deducted. You do not need to ask for it, and it appears in your balance as a re-run credit, separate from anything you paid for.

We deliberately do not refund the credit. The run really did consume model tokens on your behalf, and pretending otherwise would mean either raising prices or quietly capping quality. Re-doing the work costs us roughly a tenth of what a refund costs, which is exactly why we can afford to offer it on every run instead of only to customers who complain.

Free re-runs never expire, are consumed before any paid or trial credit, are capped at 3 per rolling 7 days, and carry no cash value. Full terms on the refund policy page.

ATS scores are computed by our internal scoring model, benchmarked against public ATS parsing behavior. They are not a measurement from any specific employer's ATS.
